Companies Law

The Companies Law constitutes the legislative framework governing the establishment, operation, and management of companies in the State of Kuwait. It sets out the provisions and rules applicable to various forms of companies, contributing to a clear and well-regulated business environment while promoting governance, transparency, and the protection of the rights of partners, shareholders, and stakeholders.

Law No. (1) of 2016 Promulgating the Companies Law, as amended, regulates the provisions relating to the establishment of companies, their legal forms and management, the rights and obligations of partners and shareholders, general assemblies, supervision and accounts, as well as provisions concerning the restructuring, conversion, merger, division, dissolution, and liquidation of companies, in accordance with the applicable legal provisions and requirements.

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry exercises the powers and responsibilities assigned to it under the Companies Law, its Executive Regulations, and relevant resolutions, including procedures and services related to the establishment of companies and the regulation of their affairs in accordance with the legislation in force.

Executive Regulations of the Companies Law
